Race 3 Trip Notes

2 – Blackout

Trip Note:
Bet to favoritism off the 6/1 ML. Took a bump at the start from the early leader. Pushed the pace as the middle horse in a 3-horse, 1/2L stack into the FT. Took the lead at the TOS and was out finished by the rival who raced 3W in the 1/2L stack.

Race Note: Rail at 18-feet. Winner pushed the pace 3W and grinded away to win.
3– Never Easy
08-15-2020 1 1/16M

Trip Note:
Bet strong off the 8/1 ML. No chance trip as he raced uncovered while 4-5deep every step of the race. The “bothered in the stretch” comment meant nothing as jock had basically called it a day by the time a rival drifted out in front of him past the 1/8th-pole. Draw a line thru the race.

Race Note:
Rail at 24-feet. Winner went W2W.

Bias: N/A

Summary: Excused, Wide (+)
4– Single Me Out
08-28-2020 1 1/16M

Trip Note:
Uncovered 3W while advancing towards the leaders into the 1st turn. Applied moderate pace pressure into the FT. Forced to move past the 3/8th-pole as the eventual place finisher made a 3W move to the front. Tired in the lane and was wrapped up final 16th.

Race Note:
Rail at 24-feet. 11/1 upset winner rallied from mid-pack. Place finisher made a blitz into the FT and got leg weary late.
5– Psycho Dar
08-09-2020 5F

Trip Note:
Broke a bit outwards. Pushed the pace 4W into the FT. Leg weary final 1/8th while racing on the wrong lead. Goes back to the jock (Maldonado) who rides him best today.

Race Note: Rail at 12-feet. 14/1 upset winner angled 4-5W TOS and rallied fast to nail early pace setter in the final strides.
6– Oil Can Knight
N/A: No recent turf races
7– Ultimate Bango
07-26-2020 1 1/16M

Trip Note:
Draw a line thru this race as one of the early leaders (Grinning Tiger) caused nothing but problems for Bango from start to finish. Bango set off for the lead out of the chute until Tiger rushed up inside of him. Bango tucked back going into the 1st turn to stalk until Tiger became erratic and bobbled. Bango responded by moving up with an outside rival. As Tiger got back into stride and the 3W rival continued to move up, Bango again took back to stalk them.  As they approached the 5/8th-pole, Tiger became erratic and took back again, so Bango moved up. As soon as he did, Tiger got into stride and angled off the rail. Bango had to slightly pull back to not engage in a BS duel. Into the FT an outside rival forced the jock’s hand on Bango and he had to move 3W to maintain his position. Of course Tiger started to drift out and tire a touch on that turn so Bango was forced to pause and pull back. Jock asked Bango to restart for the 4th time in this race past the ¼-pole and as he did Tiger lost his action inside of him, drifted out which caused Bango to steady and as a result of that caused another rival to clip heels with Bango and go down. Jock called it a day from that point to the wire. He had to be so frustrated!

Race Note: Rail at zero feet. Favorite sat a beautiful pocket trip and tipped out past the 1/4 to win a driving finish. Winner came back to run 5th in the G2 Del Mar Mile. Runner up came back to win a state-bred OC20Kn1x Condition and the 9th-place finisher won an OC62,500Kn2x on the main track.

Bias: N/A

Summary: Excused, Nightmare trip
8– About Our Time
08-28-2020 5F

Trip Note:
Raced mid-pack into the FT when he was forced to steady between rivals and shuffled back past the 3/8th pole. Lost 2L of valuable position. Re-rallied 3-4W and tried hard all the way to the wire. With the margin of defeat only being a length, we could definitely make the case he was best in here.

Race Note:
4/5* favorite for Asmussen went W2W.

Bias:
N/A

Summary: Traffic (+), Arguably Best
9– Seven Scents
08-30-2020 5F

Trip Note:
Was not ridden for speed early. Drifted in a touch 100-yards into the race and exchanged bumps with an outside rival for a couple of strides. Ground saving trip the rest of the way while essentially running in place. Gets a big rider upgrade from a speed standpoint and with 2nd-time blinkers would expect him to be hard sent early.

Race Note:
Rail at 18-feet.

Bias:

Summary:
Rider Upgrade (+), Expect Improved Speed
