Race 4 Trip Notes

1– D K's Crown
07-11-2020 5F

Trip Note:
Held a pressured lead into the FT. Overtaken by the pace pressure mate by the ¼-pole. Wrapped up final 16th. Connections geld him, remove the blinkers, and drop through the roof. No mystery what they are trying to do. Blast off from the gate and hope that the blinkers off and gelding angle relaxes him enough up front.

Race Note:
Rail at 12-feet. Race was below par for the level. 9/5* favorite from Miller stable rallied up the inside to win.

Bias:

2 – Lucky Romano
08-23-2020 1000Yards

Trip Note:
PPs tell the story. Tracked 3-4W throughout while never threatening.

Race Note: Winner rallied up the inside to nail the pace setter late.
3– Burn Me Twice
07-24-2020 6.5F

Trip Note:
Bet down to favoritism. Pushed the pace 3W and began to tire by the ¼-pole. The “brushed upper” comment meant absolutely nothing as he was backing up through the field when a rival drifted in.

Race Note:
#6, Awhitesportscoat, was intentionally taken back to last and rallied down the center of the track to win.

Bias: Middle of the track/Off the pace
4– Write Me a Song
08-21-2020 6F

Trip Note:
Not a ton of difference between the common rivals who exit this race. Raced in the middle of the track down the BS. Came under a ride around the FT and looked destined to finish nowhere. However the jock stayed after him and he grinded away while in about the 10path, in the lane.

Race Note:
Winner went W2W for Miller first off the claim. Had previously sported an 0/15 record at Del Mar.

Bias:
Middle of the track/Stalkers
5– King Parker
08-21-2020 6F

Trip Note:
Not a ton of difference between the common rivals who exit this race. Would give a lean to Parker being the best of the bunch due to his stumble at the start. It left him hopelessly last. Jock let him do his own thing before getting after him past the 5/16th-pole. Rallied the strongest in the center of the track (7path) to just miss 3rd. Gets a pass due to the start.  Prat sees fit to ride back and with a clean break should be in a much better tracking position!

Race Note: Winner went W2W for Miller first off the claim. Had previously sported an 0/15 record at Del Mar.

Bias: Middle of the track/Stalkers

Summary: Excused, Start (-)
6– Awhitesportscoat
08-23-2020 6F

Trip Note:
Good effort by the jock from the rail draw. Stayed in touch with the field early and angled off the rail entering the FT without losing any momentum. 4W-5W around the turn and just grinded away in the lane. Jock did all he could to compete in here, horse just wasn’t good enough.

Race Note:
Razor sharp winner pushed the pace and took over past the 5/16th-pole and never let anyone get close to him in the lane.

Bias:

7– Market Sentiment
07-24-2020 6.5F

Trip Note:
Nothing wrong with this performance just 2nd best. Rallied traffic free from 2nd last while running in the 3-4path. Tried hard all the way to the wire.

Race Note: #6, Awhitesportscoat, was intentionally taken back to last and rallied down the center of the track to win.

Bias: Middle of the track/Off the pace
8– Rick's Dream
08-02-2020 6.5F

Trip Note:
Hopped at the start and then was hard ridden to get to the front. Middle horse of early 3-across stack for the lead. Came under pressure entering the FT and weakened.

Race Note:
1/5* favorite was much the best winning W2W for his 2nd win of the meet. Returned to finish OTB in the G2 Pat O Brian.

Bias:
Speed
9– Ferguson
07-05-2020 5.5F

Trip Note:
Cold on the board off the 9/5 ML. Never involved throughout. Cautiously ridden with the jock only waving the stick. Not allowed to gallop out. Looks off to us.

Race Note:
Winner went W2W.

Bias:

Summary:
Horse Comfort (-)
10– More Honor
08-23-2020 6F

Trip Note:
The bumping at the start didn’t really affect him and wouldn’t even call it bumping. The outside rival just leaned on him a bit. Regardless, just never seemed comfortable on this day. Did not pick up his feet at any point despite being asked to do so around the FT. Wrapped up final 16th.

Race Note: Razor sharp winner pushed the pace and took over past the 5/16th-pole and never let anyone get close to him in the lane.

Bias: Even

Summary: Horse Comfort (-), Rider Downgrade (-)
11– Around the Dial
08-23-2020 6F

Trip Note:
Won the early battle for the lead among 3-horses. Pace pressured and put away by the winner past the 5/16th-pole. Angled off the rail TOS and tried to battle back, but tired badly. Drifted outwards final 16th repeatedly bumping into a rival.

Race Note: Razor sharp winner pushed the pace and took over past the 5/16th-pole and never let anyone get close to him in the lane.

Bias: Even
12– Black Storm
08-21-2020 6F

Trip Note:
Not a ton of difference between the common rivals who exit this race. Had the advantage of a clean break and saved every inch of ground compared to the other (2) rivals from this race. However, he was closing up the inside which for the track profile wasn’t the best place to be on this day. Mixed feelings about the performance.

Race Note: Winner went W2W for Miller first off the claim. Had previously sported an 0/15 record at Del Mar.

Bias: Middle of the track/Stalkers
13– Country Road
08-15-2020 6F

Trip Note:
Even run throughout while never able to get to the top two. Stalked 3W right off their flanks down the BS. Asked past the ¼-pole and couldn’t make up the deficit.

Race Note:
1-2-3 early finished 2-1-3.
14– Concur
08-31-2020 1M

Trip Note:
Won the battle for the lead into the 1st turn. Favorite passed on the inside of him at the ¼-pole. Kept to pressure in the lane to hang on for 2nd.

Race Note:
Favorite was much the best while just toying with this field.
